A foreign passport is the main document for any trip abroad, even to countries where Russian citizens do not need a visa. Despite the fact that there are several states that can still be entered with a Russian passport, it is still recommended to do so with a foreign identity card. It is highly likely that this rule will be canceled, and all foreign travel will be possible only with a foreign passport. For some countries, it is important that the passport is valid for a certain time after the end of the trip.

Visa application form. Each country has its own, the requirements for filling differ, but the visa application form will have to be filled in anyway.

Certificate from the place of work, made on letterhead. The certificate should indicate your salary, work experience at this enterprise, position. If you do not work, you must confirm your other employment. Students and schoolchildren need to show documents from an educational institution, pensioners - a certificate. In the vast majority of cases, photography is required. Each country has its own requirements, you should be careful. Pictures left over from a Schengen visa will not be suitable for an American visa application, and vice versa.

Insurance. It is not always needed, but if you need it, you will also have to clarify what requirements are imposed on the policy. Certain countries sometimes require a certificate stating that you have received the correct vaccinations.

Tickets to the host country and back. This requirement is also not always presented. Tickets do not have to be from Russia to the country of the requested visa, any third countries are suitable.

Hotel reservations for the entire stay or for the first few days. Not all consulates accept reservations from the Internet, some want you to bring the original of the reservation or, in extreme cases, a fax.

If you are traveling on a private visit (to friends or relatives), you always need an invitation. It is issued for different consulates according to different models, these requirements must be taken into account.

Marriage or children certificate. Some consulates require that you bring these documents, if any.

Documents and certificates for the possession of valuable property: real estate, papers, a car, etc. This requirement is optional, but it will always reinforce your position by demonstrating that you have reasons to return to Russia.
