Many job seekers often forget to pay due attention to the competent writing of a letter to the employer. This is a common mistake when looking for a job. The employer pays attention primarily to the content of the letter itself, and not to the resume attached to it. If the letter fails to attract his attention, then it may not come to reviewing the resume.
Instructions
Step 1
The letter should briefly state who you are, as well as the reason why you are the most suitable candidate for the proposed position. You should not begin to list your merits unnecessarily, the employer is interested in facts.
Step 2
In the absence of information about the employer (name, position), you should call and clarify this with the company. If for some reason it was not possible to do this, then you can use the following appeals, for example: "Dear employer".
Step 3
It is advisable to try to maintain a uniform style of writing and resume. Scale and font should be the same if possible. You are trying to convey to the employer that you are the person who deserves this position. The letter, in turn, testifies to you, so you should focus on all the little things.
Step 4
Do not overuse the word "I". This can lead to monotony and discourage further reading. It is necessary to replace such combinations as "I am capable, I did, I can." It is better to write: “I have the ability”, etc. This will make the text richer.
Step 5
The letter should briefly duplicate the resume, describe the most significant skills and abilities. Don't lose sight of your personality, the employer must have an idea of your potential. The most significant achievements should also be described. The interest of the company in you depends on this.
Step 6
At the end of the letter, many make a common mistake - they write the phrase "Thank you for your attention, I will wait for an answer." It is not worth doing this, as the answer, most likely, will not follow. The letter should be closed with the words: “Thank you for your time. I will contact you (date and time) and we will discuss when it is convenient for you to meet with me."
