Conscription is a burning topic in the life of every young person under the age of 27. Evasion from military service leads to many negative consequences.

Cons of a "deserter" life

There is an opinion that you can hide from the military registration and enlistment office for up to 27 years, and then calmly demand the issuance of a military ID. However, the extradition procedure after such "manipulations" can be delayed for a very long time, which will significantly complicate the official employment. Moreover, all this time you will have to hide from law enforcement agencies, live outside the place of registration and stay away from crowded places.

Even if the conscript changed his address of actual residence and does not work under a contract, it would be a delusion on his part to think that he is not “looking for”. According to the order of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, today it is already common practice to be forced to the military registration and enlistment office in case of failure to appear. In this case, the offender may face both administrative and criminal liability.

Administrative responsibility

There is a misconception that according to an unsigned summons one can not appear at the military registration and enlistment office. However, in addition to a copy of the summons sent to the draftee, one more copy remains in the military registration and enlistment office. And if the person does not appear at the place of military registration, the military registration and enlistment office has the legal right to transfer the matter to the district police officer. This threatens the institution with administrative responsibility for evading medical examination and a fine of five hundred rubles.

Each recruiting company employees of the military registration and enlistment office, together with the local police officer, are looking for the draft evaders. They will periodically visit the addresses associated with the conscript, and this will continue until the person turns 27 years old. But even after their expiration, having come to the military registration and enlistment office for a "white ticket", the "deserter" will not get rid of the fine.

Criminal liability

Criminal liability is possible if the conscript has already passed a medical examination, is recognized as fit for military service and is notified of the date of dispatch to the place of its passage. If at the appointed time the conscript does not appear in the military registration and enlistment office and cannot be found, Article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Evasion of military service in the absence of legal grounds for exemption from this service" comes into force. It provides for a fine of up to two hundred thousand rubles, and can also threaten with imprisonment for up to two years.

It is worth remembering that both administrative and criminal liability do not cancel the actions of military service. Consequently, the conscript who has been brought to justice will have to serve anyway.
