The traditional way of registering a marriage is the personal arrival of the bride and groom at the registry office to submit an application and participate in the solemn ceremony. But there are also exceptions. In particular, there are two statements about the desire to start a family, and the newlyweds can exchange wedding rings at home or even in prison.
Necessary
- - passport or other documents with confirmation of full name, citizenship, address, gender and majority;
- - statement;
- - if necessary, a certificate of termination of the previous marriage; for minors - permission;
- - for a foreigner - a certificate of the absence of a valid marriage, translated into a Russian passport and received from the embassy;
- - receipt of state duty.
Instructions
Step 1
Both those who want to get married come to the registry office. In it, they write a statement confirming their voluntary desire to acquire the official status of spouses and the absence of reasons that can prevent this. They also indicate biographical data, surnames chosen for living together, the date of filing, put signatures. If the groom or the bride could not visit the registry office together, the second application is also allowed. But the signature of the absent person must be certified by a notary office.
Step 2
Having submitted an application and having found out the day and hour of the beginning of registration (it will take two months to wait), the newlyweds appear on it, at least together. Previously, they need to inform the registry office employees about their desire to participate in the solemn ceremony with the presentation of rings, music, presenter, witnesses, relatives and guests. Or declare the absence of such a desire and simply register in a room separate from the common room.
Step 3
An army conscription, a many-month business trip, a solid pregnancy period - for any of these valid reasons, the registry office can schedule the newlyweds on the day of application. Registration is allowed outside the registry office, again in extraordinary situations. This is, for example, illness or being in prison. Legal matrimonial relations appear only after registration. The husband and wife receive their confirmation in the form of a paper certificate.
