Today, with blogging almost supplanting professional journalism, it seems like writing articles is easy. It is enough to be able to put words into sentences, and even punctuation marks are no longer required. But in order to write interesting material, it is not enough just to express your thoughts.
Instructions
Step 1
Define the topic clearly. Try to avoid platitudes. Remember that an interesting article should at least provide a fresh perspective on known issues.
Step 2
Look for an exclusive. To make an article a hit, you can, for example, find unknown facts from the life of celebrities or describe an extraordinary event that you have witnessed.
Step 3
It is best to write about what you are well versed in, but you can take a topic that is unfamiliar but interesting to you. In this case, outline a list of sources - these can be both Internet resources and attracted experts with whom you will talk.
Step 4
Prepare to speak with the experts: if they understand that you are competent, they may tell you something that they did not say to other, less prepared interlocutors. Don't be afraid to ask naive questions, let your curiosity run wild.
Step 5
Explore everything that has been written on the topic of your choice earlier, looking for opportunities to expand your understanding of it.
Step 6
While working on the material, introduce the person to whom it is addressed, try to speak in the language of your reader. Ideally, the article should be understandable to everyone - a scientist, a pensioner, and a housewife.
Step 7
Entice the reader. The first paragraph should contain some kind of intrigue, a hint of what will be even more interesting next, and not a summary of the article.
Step 8
Be concise. If in the process of work you realize that the article turns out to be too voluminous, break it into parts, come up with original subheadings. No matter how interesting the material, large amounts of information today are hardly perceived by the reader.
Step 9
A good article is a spectrum of opinions. Do not consider yours as the only correct one. Reflect opposing perspectives on the issues you are addressing. Do not make unambiguous conclusions, let the reader do them. Your main task is to make him think, evoke response emotions. Then your work will not be in vain.
