His military colleague differs from an ordinary prosecutor not only in uniform, but also in that he monitors the rule of law in the Armed Forces and in other structures, whose employees also wear shoulder straps and emblems. Among them are the Federal Security Service, the Foreign Intelligence Service, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Emergency Situations, the State Drug Control Service, and customs.
Where does the future military prosecutor study?
The main institution of higher education in the country that trains army and navy prosecutors is the Military University of the Ministry of Defense. More precisely, its prosecutorial and investigative faculty. Another resource is the retraining of graduates of civil law schools who have already served in the army.
The Prosecution and Investigation Department of the Military University of the Russian Ministry of Defense was established in July 1993 at the Military Academy of Economics, Finance and Law. The following year, the faculty became a division of the university.
Whom do they accept?
Only young people aged 16-22 who have received secondary education have a chance to become university entrants. For those who have gone through an army school or are doing compulsory or contract service, the age limit is slightly higher and is equal to 24 years.
Having made the decision to enter, the future cadet must write a detailed and honest autobiography. Together with the certificate, documents on excellent health, at least secondary education and a statement, it must be brought to the local military commissar. It was he who would send the papers to Moscow.

In addition to oral and written entrance examinations - essay, social studies and the history of Russia - future cadets undergo a serious medical examination and testing by a psychologist. They also take a physical fitness test.
To achieve the "excellent" mark, you need to run 3000 meters in 12-13.5 minutes, cover the track and field athletics distance of 100 m in 13, 6-14, 2 seconds, pull up on the crossbar 11-13 times and swim 100 meters in 1, 40. Moreover, the commission's requirements for servicemen are somewhat higher than for civilians.
All physical exercises are performed by applicants within one day, immediately after passing the medical commission. Usually only one attempt is given to obtain a score. Repetition is possible only as an exception.
Gender discrimination
Girls are not yet allowed to become military prosecutors and investigators in our country, so there is clear gender discrimination.
According to the heads of the university, this is due to the fact that the first and second year cadets are in fact ordinary conscripts who are just about to become military personnel. And the command is clearly not in a hurry to build separate barracks for the girls, to conduct drill and sports classes with them, field exercises and firing.
Although the example of the Ryazan Higher Airborne Command School, in which the same girls study on an equal basis with the guys, speaks completely of the opposite. In 2013, they graduated from this school, becoming lieutenants of the Airborne Forces, at once 14 girls from the first set.
