The police is an interconnected system of bodies endowed with power, with the goal of protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens, combating crime, protecting public order, property, and ensuring public safety.

Step 1
The passage of service in the police is regulated by labor legislation, as well as laws on the procedure for service in the internal affairs bodies.
Citizens of the Russian Federation who meet the following requirements can be recruited to serve in the police:
- the age of the applicant for the position must not be less than 18 years old and not older than 35 years old (gender, race, nationality, origin, property and official status, place of residence, relation to religion do not matter);
- proficiency in the state language of the Russian Federation;
- the presence of education not lower than secondary (complete) general;
- the ability, in terms of their personal and business qualities, physical fitness and state of health, to fulfill the official duties of a police officer.
People who do not permanently reside in the territory of the Russian Federation, do not have a residence permit, who have been brought to criminal responsibility for committing a crime, who have been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility during the last year before seeking a position in the police, cannot serve in the police.
Step 2
Citizens wishing to serve in the police bodies submit to the personnel department the necessary package of documents (application for work, autobiography, work book, copy of a passport, etc.) or drug addiction.
Step 3
The admission of a citizen to the service is formalized by an order of appointment to the post, after which a personal file is started. In order to test his professional skills, a newcomer to the service is assigned a probationary period of three to six months. During the probationary period, the police officer is considered a trainee. The probationary period is included in the length of service in the police.
