A marriage certificate is an important joint document of newlyweds, which often has to be presented when contacting various organizations. Due to life circumstances, it may be necessary to obtain a duplicate of it.

Step 1
According to form No. 19, a repeated registration certificate can be obtained by contacting the registry office at the place of residence or where the marriage took place. To do this, you must have a passport with you with a mark indicating the registration of marriage. It should be noted that in order to receive a copy of the certificate, the presence of both spouses is not at all necessary, the appearance of one of them is sufficient.
Step 2
The employee of the institution is obliged to serve an application form for issuing a duplicate of the document, which must be filled out, indicating personal data, the date of registration of the marriage union and the reason that led to the issuance of a repeated marriage registration certificate. This statement is written in the name of the head of the registry office.
Step 3
After that, you need to pay a state fee in the amount of 200 rubles and receive a receipt confirming this payment. Having completed the necessary documents, you need to provide them to the registry office specialist, who, in turn, will issue a repeated marriage certificate. Upon receipt, a personal signature must be put in the register for the issuance of documents and, of course, their duplicates. As a rule, the certificate is restored on the day of appeal, but a delay of several days is also possible for various reasons.
Step 4
You need to know that, according to the law, repeated certificates of state registration of marriages are issued only to those persons in respect of whom a civil registration was drawn up.
Step 5
It is important to remember that after receiving a copy of this document, the first marriage registration certificate will be considered invalid. Therefore, it will be impossible to use it in this case, and the use of the original marriage certificate in some cases can be regarded as fraud with very unpleasant consequences.
