On November 5, 2014, a new law was introduced, obliging to replace the driver's license when changing the surname. The period established for these actions is 10 days. In case of untimely replacement of a driver's license, penalties are provided in the amount of 5,000 to 10,000 thousand rubles.
First of all, to replace the license, you should check the presence of the driver's medical certificate and its validity period. If the card has expired, you need to get a new one. To do this, you need to contact the polyclinic at the place of residence, as a rule, a special time is allocated for this type of medical examination, when the necessary doctors do not have a flow of main patients.
The sum of the medical examination of drivers in the Krasnodar Territory is: 1701 rubles for men, 1829 rubles for women. In time, the procedure takes no more than 1, 5 hours, you must have a passport and 2 photos 3 by 4 cm with you.
After receiving a medical card, you can go to the traffic police (after specifying the hours of reception of citizens). You must have with you:
- an application for the replacement of a driver's license (issued by the traffic police);
- marriage certificate or documents confirming the change of surname;
- passport;
- old driver's license;
- a receipt confirming the payment of the state duty (paid in the same place in the traffic police and equal to 800 rubles);
- driver's medical card.
You give all the documents to the inspector, after checking them, instead of the old one, you get a new driver's license. The procedure for preparing new documents takes about 15 minutes.
A driver's license replaced due to a change of surname has the same validity period as the previous document. For example, if the rights were valid until 2019, the new ones will remain valid until 2019.
