Step 1
Determine the average number of payroll specialists or the number of employees who are officially employed at the enterprise. This indicator is equal to the sum of employees who work full-time and part-time. The number of full-time employees is determined for each day of the month and multiplied by the number of days (workers) in the month. But the number of employees working part-time is determined as follows - the number of hours worked * the standard length of the day * the number of days in a month. This indicator is calculated separately for each employee, the total numbers are added together.

Calculate the number of employees working part-time After the number of specialists on the payroll has been determined, they proceed to calculating the number of employees - external part-time workers, that is, specialists who work unofficially at the enterprise and replace any of the employees. The calculation of this indicator is similar to the calculation of the number of employees who work part-time.
Step 3
Calculate the number of employees working under a civil law contract Next, the average number of employees who perform their duties under a civil law contract will be determined. The procedure for calculating this indicator is as follows: first, it is calculated how many employees worked each separate calendar day in a month. The totals are then added up and divided by the number of months.
Step 4
Calculate the average number of employees. At this point, you need to add up all the previously obtained indicators. Thus, calculating the number of employees is a rather complicated process that requires an enormous amount of time and attention from the accountant. Each specialist and the number of hours worked by him should be taken into account in this indicator, which is why the average number of employees is often calculated using specially developed programs.
