A linguist, or linguist, is a specialist who studies and studies the history of the development and formation of various groups of languages, their structure and their inherent features.

This interesting profession requires a deep knowledge of the main chosen language, because this science involves the study of its origin, social nature, functions, classifications and historical development. In addition to this knowledge, it is necessary to study grammar and phonetics, phraseological and lexical units, their semantic structure.
The work of a linguist itself combines many different functions that directly depend on the place of work of a specialist.
• Work at a research institute.
Here, the linguist's field of activity includes the compilation of reference books, dictionaries, the development of specialized and scientific and technical terminology, scientific research to improve syntax, morphology, phonetics, the study of the spoken language and local dialects.
• Work of a teacher in educational institutions of various levels of accreditation.
Sowing reasonable, good, eternal has not yet been canceled. Teachers of foreign languages for preschoolers are especially in demand today. It is very important not to scare the child away with words that he does not understand, but to instill interest, encourage and direct the child's irrepressible energy to fruitful learning.

Most of the time a linguist-translator deals with different types of translations. The most difficult of these is simultaneous translation.
Studied subjects
In order to become a good linguist, it is not enough to be interested in the humanities. In addition to philosophy, foreign and native languages, history and law, you need to be interested in research activities and be able to competently build your speech.
Now modern linguistics has gone far ahead and for its qualitative study the basics of mathematical modeling are used, they get acquainted with the basics of programming and computer science, elements of applied mathematics are used, and automated translation systems are used. The latter specialists find their place of work in companies whose main activity is automatic translation or work with speech recognition programs.
The level of education
To become a linguist, it will not be enough to complete your studies at a university. In addition to a diploma of higher specialized education, a future linguist must additionally complete doctoral studies, postgraduate studies or internship, i.e. get another diploma of postgraduate vocational training.
