Are you not enthusiastic about the workshops? Are you bored with them? Sometimes it happens that it is impossible to sit out at a meeting - it constantly tends to fall asleep. How to cope with this condition and learn everything that the boss says?
In principle, few people like various gatherings, meetings and other collective work events. However, you can not love and calmly "sit" them, or you can constantly doze off in front of your superiors, and then feel his anger or guilt. Let's try to learn some methods of dealing with sleep in a meeting.
1. Identify the issues that deserve your attention.
Check the meeting agenda in advance, if possible. Consider if there might be issues that concern you personally, your department, or a larger unit. If the answer is yes - keep your ears open, because sometimes the fate of your career can be decided at such events.
2. Review the company meeting policy.
Each institution holds different meetings: marketing, motivational and others. Often they gather everyone indiscriminately at them and believe that it is useful. Determine which meetings are most useful for you in terms of work and try to get to them, and, if possible, ignore others.
3. Distribute mental and other energy correctly.
It is clear that an attentive person can be no more than 20 minutes, then the concentration drops and fatigue from the satiety of information can come. Most of all energy is wasted in those moments when you resent the fact that you have to sit "in this stupid meeting." Imagine yourself as a Buddha and approach it wisely. To do this, use the following tips for classifying meetings:
- if at the meeting those who simply admire themselves and clearly demonstrate their merits take the floor, you can safely disconnect and think about something important or pleasant;
- at motivational corporate gatherings, especially outside the city, learn a few catchy slogans so that you can screw them up somewhere in time, the rest of the time you can relax and have a rest;
- that meeting where your boss thinks out loud, do not miss in any case - all your energy and all your brains will come in handy here: if he asks a question, the answer must be adequate.
4. If the meeting cannot be avoided, then:
- Try to ask questions and write down the answers. This will boost the energy of the meeting, and everyone will feel more energized. Just do not seek to ask questions at the beginning of the meeting - perhaps this will be discussed in speeches.
- Write down what interests you. There are no meetings that are completely useless - sometimes a random phrase will push you to a brilliant idea. Actively receiving information stimulates the brain.
- Come up with an interesting way to assimilate information: write down phrases, mark numbers, draw diagrams or images. Some people advise drawing caricatures of others.
- If you just don't get enough sleep, you can drink water or stand against a wall and listen to the speakers.
If you know all this and apply it, but sleep still envelops you in a soft cloud at any meeting, you should seriously consider changing activities. After all, if the business carries away, then it, on the contrary, gives energy, and does not take away.
