Almost all data characterizing the work of an organization can be expressed in numbers, regardless of whether they relate to quantitative indicators, for example, revenue or unit cost, or qualitative, in particular, the level of service or reliability of manufactured goods.

Step 1
Compare the data in the tables, this is especially convenient when you have information about different indicators for two or more periods. In the first column, list the names of the analyzed data, in the second and third - the corresponding numbers of a certain time period. You can use the fourth column to visually demonstrate the dynamics of the indicator, use the signs "+" and "-".
Step 2
Build pie charts if you need to highlight the change in a percentage, for example, the share in the authorized capital or the contribution of a particular department to revenue. To do this, express the data under study as a percentage of the total value of the indicator (it, of course, is 100%). Excel allows you to choose from several types of pie charts, such as flat, 3-D, or with wedges.
Step 3
Use charts, they allow for greater clarity and are especially suitable if there is a need to identify dynamics over several periods. On one graph, you can place several curved (broken) lines, for example, revenue and costs, fees and payments. This will allow you to see the plus and minus areas. In addition, Excel displays the trend line itself and formulates its equation, therefore, without delving into econometric analysis, you can make a rough analysis of the further development of the situation.
Step 4
Compare two indicators using histograms, they allow you to represent the ratio of data to each other over a certain period. It is necessary that all figures be expressed in one unit of measurement, for example, in rubles or hours. The histogram, like the graphs of several indicators, allows you to visualize the areas of positive and negative dynamics.
Step 5
Draw diagrams. They allow you to organize a large amount of information and simplify perception. In the form of diagrams, you can depict the structure of an enterprise or its divisions, interaction with partners or credit institutions, relations with suppliers and end customers.
Step 6
Draw a so-called goal tree, it can be used not only to determine the development strategy of the entire organization, but also within one department or to improve a specific business process. The essence of this method is as follows: in order to do something big, you need to start several small processes, problems in one area will not allow you to achieve what you want.
