Perhaps someone thinks that glossy magazines are not too serious publications, and any "blonde" will not be difficult to write an article for them. But there are subtleties that the uninitiated person does not even know about. And how often everything, at first glance, elementary turns out to be in fact not so simple.
Come up with a theme
Of course, any article starts with a topic. But only the editor of a glossy magazine will not suggest topics to the author. If you want to write an article, you will have to puzzle yourself and come up with several topics and send them to the editor for approval.
The topic should be interesting to a potential reader, familiar to the author and not repeat dozens of other similar materials. Several themes are needed so that the editor can choose the most interesting and least trivial of them.
Avoid platitudes
Unfortunately, it is natural for a person to think in familiar categories, and the usual, as a rule, has long been known to everyone. So is it worth writing again on hackneyed topics with worn-out phrases? To avoid standard phrases and stereotyped thoughts, it is a good idea to talk about the topic that will be covered in the article with other people, representatives of various ages and professions - this will help to look at the problem from a new, sometimes very unexpected angle for the author.
Feel the spirit of the magazine
If you not only look through the glossy pages, but read the articles of different magazines more closely, it will become clear that each edition has a certain image of an “ideal reader”, the one for whom most articles are written. It would be nice to make a psychological portrait of the character of the particular magazine for which the article is intended. And even better - to try to feel like such a girl or a woman, to feel how she lives, what interests her, worries, worries.
To make a plan
It is possible to create a logical structured text of an article only when there is a clear plan for presenting the material in the author's head (or on paper): what will be written first, what advice and recommendations will be given in the article, and what conclusions the reader should be drawn to.
Having considered the structure of the article, it will be much easier to fill each point of the plan with the appropriate content, break the text into semantic parts, come up with subheadings, etc.
Working on the article form
As a rule, a light, ironic style of presentation is encouraged in glossy magazines. But not every author, especially a beginner, masterfully owns this style of writing.
If the author does not have such a talent, it is worth giving more advice to the reader, simple, understandable and easily applicable in life. If some of them seem controversial to the reader, so much the better. The main thing is that there are not too many of them.
The text is very animated by micro-stories, explaining with examples how the author's recommendations work or, on the contrary, what happens if you do not follow them.
It would be nice to provide some statistical data in the text, other verified information - this will inspire the reader's confidence in the author.
