Many people want to work on the radio, but not all of them manage to get a job there. Most are convinced that this requires work experience. However, even the most popular radio DJs once had neither the experience nor the knowledge. Everyone started with the first broadcast, everyone had setbacks and reservations. If radio is your biggest dream, make an effort to make it happen.

Instructions

Step 1

Start with small regional radio stations. After all, it is much easier to get a job at a small and unknown station than to become the host of a large Moscow radio station, where competition is very high. It will be almost impossible to break into a popular station without work experience and connections, since many Russian radio hosts with many years of experience travel to the capital for this purpose. Job seekers with no work experience are not even considered when reviewing resumes. Take a closer look at local stations, choose interesting ones, try to become a host with a well-written resume.

Step 2

Make the right resume. In the paragraph "Purpose" do not write abstract phrases and do not be verbose. Indicate a specific goal - work on the air, write the reasons, be honest. In the column "Education" you do not need to describe your achievements in school, indicate your higher education. Music school, acting courses, speech courses must be mentioned. Write about your talents and abilities in the "Additional Information" column: your creative successes, hobbies, skills, any little things, they can be decisive moments. Be sure to indicate proficiency in foreign languages. Consider the format of the station you want to go to: if it is broadcasting rock music, it might be appropriate to mention that you played in a rock band.

Step 3

If you did not manage to get on the air, do not lose heart - try to get a job on the radio from the other side. Join the team as a sound engineer, manager, program producer, agree to any position. Radio stations often fill up the advertising department, you have a good chance of becoming a customer service manager. Your task is to become part of the team and find the right moment in order to apply with a request to act as a radio host.

Step 4

Use your hobby to work on the radio. If you are very good at something, make a small program, write down at least on paper a pilot issue and feel free to go to the program director. When you have a specific offer, the odds are better. Try to attract sponsors to your program so that you have no doubts about success.
