The employer must pay the sick leave to the employee. The amount of money to be issued for the period of incapacity for work depends on the time a specialist has worked at a particular enterprise, on the basis of which the average earnings are calculated. The latter is multiplied by the number of sick leave calendar days. Moreover, weekends and holidays are included in their number.

It is necessary

  • - production calendar;
  • - payroll for the employee;
  • - calculator;
  • - Employee's work book.

Instructions

Step 1

First, calculate the employee's average earnings. To do this, determine the period for which it is calculated. If an employee has been performing job duties at your enterprise for more than a year, then take twelve calendar months for the period. Moreover, the last month is not included in it. If the specialist has been working for the company for less than a year, for example, seven months. Accordingly, they will be the period for the calculation. Also, translate them into calendar days. Take weekends and holidays into account.

Step 2

Calculate for a year or less period of performance of the employee's labor function the amount of his wages. Use the payroll for this. Add up the salary for the employee's work days. Add to it monthly, quarterly premiums. Please note that lump sum payments are not included in this number. Exclude financial assistance or childbirth allowance from the calculation.

Step 3

Divide the amount received for the period of performing the labor function of a specialist by the number of calendar days of the sick leave calculation period. The result will be average earnings.

Step 4

In accordance with labor legislation, holidays, days off of incapacity for work are paid in full. The number of sick days indicated on the certificate of incapacity for work, multiply by the average salary of a specialist. Please note that the document must be certified by the seal of the medical organization, signed by the attending physician of the employee.

Step 5

Multiply the calculated amount for the period of incapacity for work by the percentage. The latter depends on the total length of service of the employee. If the employee has less than a year's experience, then sick leave is paid to him in the amount of 30%. When the experience of a specialist is from 5 to 8 years, the employer credits him with 80% of the average earnings. With a total work experience of an employee of up to 5 years, sick leave is paid at the rate of 60%, with eight years of experience or more, sick leave is paid for 100% of the average earnings.
