Instructions

Step 1

According to the law, it is necessary to submit a passport for a replacement by age within 30 days after the birthday - after the expiration of this period, the document will be considered invalid. In addition, failure to comply with the deadlines will be considered a violation of the passport regime - and can be punished with a fine. Its size, according to data for 2017, ranges from 2,000 to 3,000 rubles, and for residents of Moscow and St. Petersburg - from 3,000 to 5,000. You can change your passport using the usual mechanism of contacting the passport office for many. But there are also alternative options - to contact the MFC at the place of residence or to issue an electronic application on the State Services portal.

Step 2

To replace a passport at 45 in the traditional way, you must contact the department of the Federal Migration Service of Russia (passport office). It is best to change your passport at the office at the place of your registration - in this case, the term for replacing the document is 10 days. However, this requirement is not mandatory - if you actually live in another city or area, you can contact the local authorities of the Federal Migration Service even if you do not have registration. They have no right to refuse to accept your documents. However, the terms for changing a passport in this case are significantly increased - from the day the old document is handed over to the receipt of a new one, it can take up to two months.

Step 3

In the event that you yourself cannot contact the MFC department of the FMS of Russia for health reasons (for example, you are in a hospital or are disabled), you have the right to require a service employee to visit your home to write an application for a replacement passport. To do this, you need to write a statement in any form and send it to the FMS by mail - or ask one of the relatives to personally take the document to the passport office.

Step 4

When contacting the passport office, you must definitely have with you:

- passport to be replaced, - two photographs of 3, 5x4, 5 cm in size, - a receipt confirming the fact of payment of the state fee in the amount of 300 rubles (for 2017).

If you are a citizen liable for military service, you must also bring a military ID. In addition, to affix marital status or the presence of minor children in a new passport, original birth certificates, marriage and divorce certificates, etc. must be provided. Note that the setting of these stamps is optional - therefore, the documents are provided upon request. In addition, if you handed in a replacement passport without additional documents, and then, for some reason, nevertheless decided to enter these data into it, you can do this at any time by providing all the necessary certificates to the passport office.

Step 5

At the FMS department, you hand over to the passport officer the package of documents you have prepared and fill out an application to replace your passport. The application has a standard form No. 1-P, which is filled out personally by you or by an official of the service, if for some reason you cannot do it yourself. After all the documents are provided, you will be informed about the date and time of receipt of your new passport.

Step 6

At the time of registration of all documents, you can ask the employee of the service for a certificate of acceptance of documents for the issuance of a new passport or a temporary identity card of a citizen of the Russian Federation. To obtain this ID, you will need another photograph.

Step 7

The procedure for replacing a passport through the MFC is similar - you contact the multifunctional center of public services, provide a package of documents and write an application. The replacement terms are also similar to those of the Federal Migration Service - up to 10 days at the place of registration, up to 2 months - if you are in another city. Many people choose this option based on the work schedule of the MFC - such centers usually work 6 days a week, from early morning until late at night, and you do not need to "adjust" to the difficult working hours of the passport office. However, it must be borne in mind that, having given a replacement passport to the MFC, you will still receive a new document at the FMS, so it will not be possible to avoid visits to the FMS authorities. It should be borne in mind that a temporary identity card is not issued at the MFC either - this is the prerogative of the passport office.

Step 8

If you are registered on the State Services portal, you can write an application to replace your passport via the Internet. To do this, you need to go to the portal with your username and password, go to the e-services section and in the list of services provided by the Federal Migration Service, select the "Issue / replacement of an internal passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation" tab. Fill out the application for a replacement passport with all the necessary information - and upload a color or black and white photo. The picture must be strictly full-face, without a headdress, JPEG or JPEG200 format, resolution not lower than 450 DPI; aspect ratio - 35 in width to 45 in height.

Step 9

After the application has been verified by the administration of the portal, you will receive an e-mail message with information about the date and time of receipt of the document - as well as the list of papers that you will need to provide. Terms of readiness standards - when issuing a civil passport at the place of residence, they are 10 days, in other cases - 2 months.

Step 10

On the appointed day, you will need to appear at the FMS department with all the necessary documents, hand them in and draw up and sign a "paper" application with your own hand. The finished passport with all the marks put in it will be provided to you on the same day - according to the standards, the waiting time for readiness should not exceed one and a half hours. If it is inconvenient for you to wait for registration during this time, in agreement with the FMS employees, you can get a new passport on another day.
