Step 1
Become a candidate for deputy. Theoretically, any citizen of Russia over 21 years of age and permanently residing in the territory of the Russian Federation can become one. Disabled citizens who are in places of imprisonment, as well as those who do not have a passive electoral right, cannot be nominated as a candidate for deputy. Passive suffrage is the right of citizens of the Russian Federation to be elected to state and local government bodies.
Step 2
Join one of the political parties in Russia and enlist the support of its leadership. The more funds, members and supporters a party has, the more chances its candidate has to win the elections. You can do without political associations and register as a self-nominated candidate. In this case, you need to collect signatures in your support in the amount of at least two percent of the total number of voters. All voter data must be accurate. If more than one tenth of the forgeries are found, you will be deprived of the opportunity to participate in the elections as a candidate for deputy.
Step 3
Submit your application to the Territorial Election Commission. You must do this no later than twenty days before the election. Together with the application, you must provide copies of documents proving your identity, education, place of work and position held.

Start your election campaign. It can be started only after you have registered as a candidate for deputy and stopped one day before the elections. The state provides free pages in two state newspapers and a certain time on television. If you want to use Internet resources, posters, leaflets, various TV shows and radio broadcasts for your promotion, you do it for your money. If you are nominated by a party, it also carries out all the expenses on election campaigning.
