A resume is an important tool for presenting your skills and personality traits to a potential employer for a suitable position. Based on a properly written resume, the first impression of you is built. This is why it is so important and responsible to approach your resume and avoid including unnecessary paragraphs.

Step 1
Sense of humor. This quality is individual, because everyone has their own sense of humor. Therefore, the use of various comic expressions in the resume is undesirable.
Step 2
Unnecessary work experience. Don't clutter your resume with odd jobs in the wrong field of work. For example, experience as a waiter is not in any way related to being an accountant.
Step 3
Inappropriate rewards. Don't include inappropriate rewards on your resume for your chosen position. For example, winning a city beauty contest is unlikely to play an important role in the vacancy of a PC operator.
Step 4
Photos. If a potential employer does not indicate a prerequisite for attaching a photo to a resume, then you should not include it there. An unnecessary photo can provoke an unconscious backlash from a potential employer who simply may not like the red hair or tie in the photo. The only exception to the rule is often vacancies in creative professions.
Step 5
Personal information. Any information relating to your personal opinion, religious point of view, sexual orientation or political preferences should be left outside the scope of the summary and not included in it. Also, do not publish your social security number or bank information on your resume.
Step 6
Extravagant verbiage. Don't try to impress your potential employer with your resume vocabulary. Avoid using large, obscure words, as clarity is key in written communication.

Exotic decoration. Fancy fonts, scented or colored paper can emphasize a frivolous approach to getting a vacancy and focus not on the basic skills and characteristics of a potential employee, but on visual materials.
