Step 1
To obtain consent for a minor to travel abroad, parents or other representatives of the child (adoptive parents, guardians or trustees) must personally contact a notary by submitting the following documents:
• Birth certificate (original) of a minor child traveling abroad.
• Passport data of the person with whom the minor child travels abroad.
• If one of the parents changed their last name, it is necessary to provide a marriage certificate.
• Documents indicating which state the child intends to visit, as well as the period for which the child leaves the Russian Federation. At the same time, in the Consent to the departure of a minor outside the Russian Federation, the exact dates of both the departure of the child abroad and his return are fixed.
Step 2
• If a minor leaves for one of the Schengen countries, this fact is also noted in the Consent for his departure.
• If a child leaves the country unaccompanied by adults, he must have a passport and the consent of the parents (or other representatives of the child) for the departure of a citizen of the Russian Federation who has not reached the age of majority.
• If the child is accompanied by one of the parents on a trip abroad, it is necessary to issue a notarized Consent of the other parent.
• If one of the child's parents has died, a Death Certificate must be presented.
Step 3
• When registering a consent to leave the child, remember that for a conflict-free trip to certain countries, such as Germany, the Netherlands, France, Ireland, the text of the Consent must be translated into a foreign language. In this case, the translated document must be signed by the translator and notarized with an apostille affixing.
• If the child leaves the country as part of a group, consent to leave must be obtained from both parents (or other representatives of the child).
Step 4
When making a consent, it should be remembered that the correct wording of the name of the document sounds like "consent to travel abroad for a minor child." Similar names such as "power of attorney to leave" or "power of attorney to take out" are incorrect names for the Consent.
