By whom, in what status, under what lifestyle, with what degree of professionalism, self-realization and even ambition you would like to see yourself, for example, in two five-year plans. Analyze the facts of the already existing experience (school practice, everyday affairs), to what extent certain types of activities correspond to you. Your temperament, mindset. Do they come into conflict “with body and soul”? It's good if you have already had real things that made you happy with their result, brought satisfaction, made you feel like an adult and mature person. If you sit for hours with pleasure at the computer, have successfully mastered a difficult program, won the Olympiad and tirelessly strive for self-education in computer technologies - this is already a signal-reference point.

For career guidance, an adequate assessment of your abilities in a particular field of activity is important. Someone "suddenly" begins to dream of a career as a designer, but, alas, draws more than mediocre, and erudition in the matter is zero. This is not serious. An important factor is the demand of society for the profession, its relevance. Study labor market trends in the region where you will live and work, analytical forecasts and research. Perhaps there are several specializations that suit you, or you are faced with a fifty-fifty choice. Stop your choice on the activity that will not fall into the category of "superfluous" in the coming years.

Then the prospects for the future vocation are clear, and you can purposefully go towards the goal.
