Double surnames are now quite common. There are a number of conditions under which you can issue such a surname.
The surname received at birth can be changed an unlimited number of times during life.
The child's surname can become double if the parents have different surnames. The sequence in which the surnames of the mother and father are connected depends on their agreement. If the parents cannot agree on the question of whose surname will be the first, their dispute can be resolved by the guardianship and guardianship authorities. When writing a double surname, it must be separated by a hyphen.
Triple names are not allowed. This is spelled out in paragraph 3 of article 58 of the Family Code of the Russian Federation. That is, if the parents have double surnames, you cannot combine them, but you need to choose one of them.
An important point when choosing surnames for siblings is that the sequence of the surnames of the mother and father should be the same for everyone.
Change of surname is possible upon marriage or at will.
When registering a marriage, you can leave your old surname or take a common one: the wife's surname, the husband's surname, or combine them into a double (but not triple). Upon divorce, the surnames can be changed back to premarital names.
You can change your surname if you wish only after you reach 14 years of age and until you reach 18 years of age (until the age of majority) you need the consent of your parents or guardians.
