Most often, famous people, as well as applicants for a vacant position, face the question of the reason for choosing a profession during an interview with an employer. If a celebrity can take such a question lightly, then a person who wants to go to work, the "wrong" answer may turn into a refusal to find employment.
Instructions
Step 1
Think about your answer in advance, before starting the interview. It is necessary to prepare several answer options. During the interview, you will understand which option is more appropriate.
Step 2
If the employer speaks in a purely businesslike tone, communicates dryly and only to the point, respond in the same manner. Say, for example, that the chosen profession reflects your interests as much as possible and you see it as the most promising.
Step 3
If you notice that the employer is trying to create a friendly atmosphere, communicates lively and emotionally, makes abstract remarks that are not directly related to work, also be open, respond in detail. The answer will sound worthy with the mention:
- childhood dreams, interests, hobbies. This answer is especially good when it comes to creative work;
- famous representatives of the profession, who inspired the choice of a specialty;
- parental authority. Say that your father worked in this profession, and you, trying to be like him, did not even think about choosing another profession.
Step 4
Try to give a truthful answer, but do not name reasons for choosing a profession that will present you in an unfavorable light. Needless to say, the educational institution was chosen according to the degree of its proximity to home, and the specialty was completely determined at random. Do not doubt that after such a story, in the mind's eye of the employer, you will appear as a person who is looking for an easy source of stable income.
Step 5
If you see that the employer is endowed with a sense of humor, jokes, there is nothing wrong with showing off a witty answer yourself. However, you shouldn't answer that you can't do anything else. Come up with a joke that still makes it clear to the employer that you love your job and are ready to develop and improve your skills.
