In some teams, the beginner at first feels like in the jungle. Everyone hid behind the trees and watched: can he light a fire, get food; how he spends time, how he reacts to danger; whether he is cheerful or boring, whether he is ready to share something. Gradually, people relax and begin to show openness. Until this happens, it is necessary to demonstrate survival skills.
Instructions
Step 1
Set up an observation point at work. Let your first day start earlier than other employees. Come in half an hour, put yourself in order so that you don't have to do this in front of everyone. Take a workplace, and if you don't already have one, sit in a comfortable zone, from where you can clearly see those entering the room. Try not to sit at other people's tables, because this can be regarded as an invasion of personal space. As a last resort, place a chair on the side of the table, where no documents are lying. Never move anything on the table.
Step 2
Watch people come and the day begins. You can read a book or write something to do this on the sly, instead of looking at the incoming. When a new person enters the room, say hello, smile and keep going. This little act of being busy will help you feel confident and show others that you are independent; they will be watching.
Step 3
Find out rituals for beginners. During your lunch break, walk up to a co-worker who is cute and ask what is usually expected of new hires outside of office hours. Somewhere it is customary for a person to bring a cake for tea. Somewhere they want a newbie to just tell about himself. In other places, there are no rituals or customs whatsoever. In any case, people like to celebrate holidays or events. Tell the other person that you will bring a cake or fruit tomorrow in honor of getting a job. Food brings people together, even if they belong to different factions. The next day they will wait for you with impatience, which will help to quickly join the team.
Step 4
Take an interest in the nuances of the work routine. If it is customary to stay after the official end of the working day, you will have to submit to this, at least for the first time. Therefore, do not plan personal affairs, and if you need to pick up the child from the kindergarten or go to the store after work, let other family members do it for now. In a few days, you will be familiar with the environment and will be able to integrate work into everyday life. In the meantime, it is necessary to avoid sidelong glances from other employees.
Step 5
Observe how you dress. Try to stick to the style of the team.
Step 6
Find out who is friends with whom. Within a few days, you will understand who is behind whom. Choose friends with whom it is easier to achieve results, grow in your business and earn more.
Step 7
Be proactive when you can help someone.
