Finding a job is not an easy task, especially given the overcrowded databases of job seekers. Competent resume writing will help you stand out from the crowd and interest the employer from the first lines.

A summary from French translates as "information summary". Basically, this is a short description of you as a future employee.

The first thing employers pay attention to is photography. According to psychologists' reports, a faceless job seeker's profile attracts much less than a profile with a photo. Some are frivolous and in vain when choosing a photo for a resume. Who would like a blurry photo of a job seeker against a background of old wallpaper?

Don't choose photos from parties where you are frivolously dressed. A large neckline and a short skirt will not surprise the employer, but push away.

Best resume photo: Get a clear picture of your face against a neutral background. The hull is deployed. The gaze is open and directed towards the camera. A photo in the waist-length style, at the desk, for example, is acceptable. You can smile, this is not a passport. But the smile should be sincere, not forced.

The second important component of a resume is structuredness. You should not write about yourself in a chaotic manner, praising through the word. A competent resume should consist of 4 blocks:

  1. Personal data (full name, date of birth, place of birth, citizenship, marital status, contact phone number)
  2. Information about education (main plus additional, if any, the block includes: name of institution, form of study, department, specialty, year of graduation)
  3. Information about the previous places of work. The last three places of work are indicated in descending order (the latest data comes first). The block consists of the name of the organization, the position in which you worked, listing your main responsibilities at the workplace.
  4. Personal characteristics (skills and abilities of the applicant)

What to write about yourself in the personal characteristics section? A well-written resume does not allow the presence of "water" in phrases. Try to describe your skills and abilities in one word. In order to interest the employer, 5-7 words (skills, abilities) are enough, for example: perseverance, sociability, responsibility, knowledge of 1C "Accounting", self-organization.

Some companies ask you to indicate their weaknesses as well. Do not be alarmed, this is necessary to test your ability to assess yourself adequately.

In the column "weaknesses" it is better to indicate your soft negative features. For example, straightforwardness. On the one hand, this is a minus. On the other hand, straightforwardness in some organizations is perceived as honesty, openness, fair position. Thus, the weak side can play into your hands.

Along with the weaknesses, it should be indicated that you are ready to correct them and strive for self-development. For example, “I don’t know any languages” and in parentheses next to them: “active, mobile, ready to learn”.

Competently writing a resume when looking for a job also means that you will have to indicate the reason for leaving your previous jobs. Is it really necessary? If you are writing a resume yourself, the reasons for dismissal can be omitted and voiced at a personal interview.

If you were given a questionnaire in the form of an organization and asked to indicate the reasons for dismissal, feel free to transfer the entry from the work book there (for example, "at your own request, clause 3 of article 77 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation"), explain at the meeting what is what.
