On parental leave, the most common thing to see is a woman. But there are situations in which the father needs to take such a vacation in the family. In this case, the law is completely on the side of young parents. The father has every right to take parental leave.

- - certificate from the place of work / study of the child's mother.

Step 1
Make sure that the mother of the child is issued a certificate from the place of work or study stating that she is not on maternity leave to care for the baby. If you decide to delegate authority and divide the decree into two, then the corresponding dates must be affixed to the paper issued.
Step 2
Please note that you can use the leave in full, until the child reaches the age of three, or "in parts". According to Art. 256 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, you have the right to distribute the decree to several family members. That is, some part of the time with the child is dad, mom, and some - grandmother / grandfather (meaning working citizens).
Step 3
Specify in advance for how long you are going to leave the workplace. Keep in mind that it is mandatory for you to keep it. During your absence, the employer has the right to find a replacement for your position. You can also arrange to do some of the work from home.
Step 4
Write a statement to the employer that you are going on parental leave, be sure to indicate the period agreed in advance. It will not be superfluous to ask for a paper confirming the acceptance of the application. She will help you in case of an unforeseen situation (for example, if the application gets lost among the papers), and you can go on parental leave on time.
Step 5
You are eligible for benefits. To do this, attach a copy of the child's birth certificate to the submitted application, as well as documents established by law that allow you to receive social benefits.
