Step 1

Visit the official website of the European Court of Human Rights by following the link at the end of the article. In the opened window of the web resource, select English or French.

Step 2

Find the vertical menu in the upper left corner of the page. Move the manipulator cursor over the penultimate item Applicants. In the window that appears, sequentially activate the Apply to the Court and Application pack parameters.

Step 3

Read the information for those wishing to apply to the European Court of Human Rights. In the list of countries, select the line Russian. Save or open the document provided in pdf format.

Step 4

Check out the "Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms". Review the protocols and complaint forms. Remember that all the information is presented in Russian, and you will not have any problems with its translation.

Step 5

When filling out the application form, provide personal information about yourself and indicate the state in respect of which your complaint is directed. Acting through an authorized representative, attach a power of attorney signed by both parties to the document.

Step 6

When reporting facts and violations of your rights, please use separate pages marked with symbols iii and iv. Do not forget to indicate all the international authorities that you have contacted to review your case.

Step 7

On point 21 of the form, list the documents related to your complaint. Attach copies of them, which will be returned to you after the case has been reviewed. Send your complaint and all required documents to: European Court of Human Rights, Council of Europe, 67075 Strasbourg Cedex, France.

Step 8

When choosing an electronic method of filing an appeal, prepare digital copies of documents. Complete the application form by clicking on the Application form online line of the Apply to the Court submenu.
