According to the production calendar 2015, we will have a lot of days off in May. Let's figure out which days we will have working days, and which days off, and how you can "lengthen" your holidays by taking a vacation at work.

In May 2015 we rest 4 days (from 1 to 4 May), then we work 4 days (from 5 to 8 May), that is, from Tuesday to Friday, moreover, on the eighth, the working day is reduced by 1 hour, then we rest 3 days (from 9 to 11 May), then we work from 12 to 15 (from Tuesday to Friday). The second half of May does not contain holidays, therefore it will be held according to the "classic" scenario: five working days and two days off.

In order to "lengthen" your weekend, you can, in agreement with the employer, issue an annual paid leave or leave without pay between the May holidays.

If you want to plan an unpaid vacation at the beginning of May, then write an application only for working days: for example, from 5 to 8 May (4 days) or from 12 to 15 May (4 working days). Do not add "extra" days to unpaid leave, as the total number of unpaid leave days can reduce the annual leave if there are more than 14. And this is not beneficial for you.

To schedule annual leave for these dates, please note that annual leave is counted in calendar days, and vacation days include both weekdays and weekends - everything except holidays. The annual leave is extended by the number of holidays. In accordance with the Labor Code, there are only two holidays in May 2015 - this is May 1 (Spring and Labor Day) and May 9 (Victory Day), and May 4 and 11 are just days off.

For example, if you are planning a vacation from April 27 for 7 calendar days, then the vacation falls on a holiday on May 1, due to which the vacation is extended by 1 day. However, the weekend on May 4 will be considered a vacation day for you, while for everyone else it is a day off. Thus, you "lose" one day of rest and go to work on May 5 with everyone after the holidays.

A more advantageous situation is to issue an annual vacation for 7 calendar days from May 5 - in this case, the vacation is extended by 1 day, that is, you will rest on May 12 for May 9 and go to work on May 13.

If you want to take a leave of 14 calendar days in the first half of May, then apply not from the 1st, but from the 5th of May (the first working day) - then you will go to work on the 20th.

And one more pleasant "bonus": April 30 - the pre-holiday working day shortened by 1 hour, as well as on May 8.

Happy Holidays and Happy Holidays!
